Call 111
The new ‘Call 111’ service will be
available for our patients from 25
October. This is a new service being
introduced which will make it easier
for you to access local NHS
services. All calls to 111 will be
free to our patients even when
calling from a mobile.
You should call 111 if you need
urgent medical advice or help when
the surgery is closed, but it is not
a 999 emergency.
This will connect you to the NHS 111
service free of charge which is
provided by a local organisation:
Derbyshire Health United. You will
be assessed and directed to the most
appropriate point of care for your
particular needs.
You can also dial 111 if you require
health information.
If you require an appointment at the
surgery please ring us during normal
opening hours.
For immediate life-threatening
emergencies ring 999.
Texting
We can now send text message
directly to our patients and we feel
this would be a really useful
additional means of contacting those
patients for whom we have up to date
mobile numbers.
We have already used text messaging
to ask patients to telephone to make
an appointment for a flu jab and
plan to start to send reminder texts
for appointments.
Please check with our receptionists
whether we have your current mobile
number and please don’t forget to
let us know if you change it.
If you do not wish to have any
contact from the surgery via mobile
phone please let our receptionists
know.
Where appropriate we will still
continue to contact patients by
letter or telephone and where we
don’t have a mobile number for you.
Telephone consultations
If you would like to speak to a GP but don’t think it’s necessary to see someone in person, or it is more convenient for you, you can now book an appointment for a telephone consultation. Simply contact Reception in the normal way, and ask for a telephone appointment. You will be given a time slot of 30 minutes within which the GP will phone you. |
